In the beginning, Jonas is an eleven-year-old boy who has a family unit. His dad is a Nurturer that likes to take care or a certain boy. Soon he becomes twelve and gets one of the highest jobs there is in the community. His job helps the community chooses what to do, and make some rules to make the community perfect. Soon, he understands that the community isn’t perfect, so he runs away.
I think the message is what makes us human. They gave up there feelings, so instead of acting like humans, they were more like robots. I disagree that we should give up our feelings.
I thought that the book was interesting because of the fact that I never thought of the idea of one person suffering, while everyone else is happy as can be. I would rate this book 4 out of 5 stars. The book was a bit confusing in the beginning. It had some bigger vocabulary words, but not many. I would recommend it to people looking for an interesting book.
