This book takes place during World War II. This story starts off with Peter, Susan, Lucy, and Edmund, a group of brothers and sisters that leave London, and come to a mansion. Lucy, the youngest of them, tries to see what a wardrobe looks like on the inside, and finds a mysterious world. She tries to get her siblings to follow her, but only gets Edmund, the youngest of the boys. He finds the world too and a mysterious women in a sledge. Soon he too tries to bring his older siblings into the world. Eventually they enter the world, and explore it. They come across a creature that talks, and tries to protect them, but Edmund tries to see that mysterious lady. He then gets captured, and is forced to help her by being bait for her. Meanwhile, the other three to get to their destination. Soon they meet Aslan. Then the Aslan gambles for Edmund from the mysterious lady, and dies.

I think that message is that you should think before you act, because this mysterious lady tricks Edmund into helping her.

I thought that this book was a very well done, because the author explains the characters very well. I would rate this book a 4 out of 5 stars, because I have seen the movie which is similar to the book with a few tweaks here and there, so that made it a bit of a spoiler. I would recommend it to people that are looking for a slower read, but not too slow, and a bit of wisdom.
